Embarking on a very rare mother/daughters day, my mom, sister and I did what we always do when we get together – shopping.
This time we took to the streets of downtown Portland specifically wanting to hit up Sephora, Nordstrom and h&m.
Come Friday (the day of the appointment and coincidentally payday) I was treated to a full face. I wanted to try out and purchase the Magic Foundation, but upon reading reviews online was disappointed to find that it was a demi-matte to matte finish. For the past two years every foundation I’ve purchased had some variation of the word ‘luminous’ in it, whether it be the Loreal Lumi or the Becca Aqua Luminous. Deciding I still wanted to try it out (but cheat) I brought along my Becca backlit primer, which the counterlady and I found was an exact dupe for the CT Wonderglow.
As for blush, I was in need of a good dusty rose shade but that also had brown tones – a complimentary look for fall. We tried the Sex On Fire and The Climax blush and the Climax showed up much better.
For the eyes we did the Dolce Vita look, which I thought came out stunning.
On my lips I wanted to try both the Victoria Beckham inspired color and the Kim K W and went for the Kim as the Victoria color seemed like something I could easily find elsewhere. This Kim color however is stunning and I’m really considering going back for it.
Pictured above is the full face all together.
Magic Foundation in Medium 7 $44
This full coverage foundation is great for anyone looking for a matte finish but doesn’t want a dull look. It’s definitely something I will reach for when doing a look for a party or event when I want my makeup to stay in place all day and look great. This is something I would definitely recommend.
Legendary Lash Mascara $32
This paired with my UD Perversion mascara is everything. For the legendary lash, CT recommends 3 coats and with those I add a finishing coat of Perversion for a false lash effect that looks natural and doesn’t make your lashes clump.
Cheek To Chic Blush in The Climax $40
Again, I wanted the perfect blush for fall and this on works incredibly well to give off that brown, dusty rose effect and the center color is perfect for any day I want to use a lighter color. The best part of this blush is that it lasts so incredibly long. It works much like my other favorites, the NARS blushes which also lasts all day. Again, a solid recommendation.
These three items are all I have so far, and while I am itching to try the Magic cream and the Goddess Clay Mask, those luxuries may have to wait a while.
Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed!
