The perfect fragrances to make you believe it’s still 80 degrees outside.
2019 has been such a good fragrance year. So many incredible fragrances have launched this spring and summer and I am eagerly awaiting to see and smell the new fall fragrance launches, and while we wait for newness to come out, let’s recap my most recommended and favorite summertime fragrances, these perfumes are more than just beautifully colored bottles, they are fruity and flirty scents that smell like paradise.
Two fragrances on this list are limited edition and won’t be around much longer, so if the notes and descriptions entice you, then I encourage you to brave the weather outside and smell these to transport yourself onto the best smelling island imaginable.
TOP: Brazilian orange, raspberry, cassis buds
MIDDLE: Jasmine sambac, frangipani, pink pepper
BOTTOM: Vanilla bean, white moss, pampelwood
Juicy Couture’s newest fragrance smells like a bag of Starburst candy, in the best way possible. The orange note in this fragrance is by far the most prominent and is what makes this fragrance so unique and so special. Whereas orange blossom is and always has been a popular note in fragrances, this twist on the traditional orange type of scent with the introduction of juicy Brazilian orange is a differentiating note that makes this fragrance the perfect juicy scent. Pun intended.
TOP: bergamot, nectarine
MIDDLE: magnolia, sweet pea
When it comes to this fragrance, I am beside myself. The first time I smelt this, I immediately logged on to check the notes as I knew lychee had to be in the top of this fragrance and was shook to find it is not incorporated in this scent at all. This smells so much like lychee that I’ve sold it to people looking for lychee fragrances. This fragrance is named floral but I definitely wouldn’t shy away from calling it a fruity fragrance. The name is rather misleading and whereas this fragrance has gorgeous floral elements, it is also beautifully fresh and elegantly fruity and the fragrance has a dry down just like it smells when it is freshly sprayed which is rare.
One of the two limited edition Summer 2019 fragrances on this list (and Macy’s exclusive) this Mugler fragrance is what I am taking with me on my next vacation, if I don’t drink the bottle first. This smell is simply delicious in that it smells like a tropical fruit punch. It’s simply paradise in a bottle. Fans of Victoria’s Secret’s Mango Temptation rejoice, as this could be considered a luxury alternative of the scent that has the lasting power Mugler fragrances are famous for. Unfortunately, this only comes in a limited edition 1.7 oz bottle and will likely be gone for good within the next couple months.
TOP: lemon essence, granny smith apple, ozonic accord, coconut water
MIDDLE: jasmine, white rose, frangipani flower
BOTTOM: cedarwood essence, amber notes, white musks, bourbon vanilla
This transports me to a warm, sunny day on the coast. You can smell the sea salt. Ozonic accord fragrances are some of my favorite scents and are typically a fragrance category that I would recommend year round, but the blend of notes in this perfume smell exactly like beach air making this ozonic accord fragrance perfect as a summer scent. If you are not a fan of very floral or fruity fragrances then this is the one for you from this list. This fragrance also borders on androgynous with the musky and warm bottom notes. Also limited edition for summer 2019, I’ll miss when the summer breeze sweeps this one away.
This fragrance does come in a male version to the scent which is equally as enticing and warm.
Revisiting these fragrance favorites for this post transported me to a beach paradise in which I’m suntanning and completely forgetting about the overcast and chilly weather Portland has been having lately. And while I do now look forward to fall fashion posts, I will still be holding onto a little bit of summer inside these beautiful bottles.
