Travel Essentials: Makeup in Mexico

I’ll admit it – I’m a heavy glam kind of girl. I love to take all the steps in makeup application, not because I have troublesome skin or for personal insecurities, but because I love it. However, when going on a tropical vacation, heavy glam can weigh down your entire look.

To take along with me on my trip I wanted to bring the least amount of makeup that will do the job but give me a natural fun look. Below are the makeup products I brought with me for my five day adventure in the heart of the Yucatan peninsula.

Face

Clinique 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer because why not take a product that does two things?

NARS Super Orgasm Illuminator to give a glowy highlight and a fun punch of color.

Hourglass Crème to Powder Bronzer and Highlight duo for a bronze glow with a natural finish.

And my favorite lipstick of the summer, Marc Jacobs’ Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

TOOLS: Elf Powder Brush, rest unknown.

EYES

Flower Cosmetics Flirty Floret Cream Eyeshadow – the only eyeshadow I’ve brought on this trip, I love the finish of this on the lid.

Anastasia Beverly Hills dipbrow pomade in chocolate because no matter where you are in the world, eyebrows must remain on fleek.

Maybelline clear mascara to groom the brows.

Two black eyeliners: Kat Von D Ink liner in Trooper and the Essence duo ended liner.

A purple eyeliner for some fun to your look! This one I received from ULTA as a birthday perk. It’s Urban Decay.

Lancôme Definicils mascara for powerful but flirty lashes.

Finally, NYX’s jumbo stick in milk for extra definition wherever necessary.

Pouch by Trina Turk in collaboration with Clinique.
